Who is depending on your company for at least one mile?
In our world of distractions and parallel play I challenge everyone to put away the electronics and quiet the noise.
This is for the hardcore. Those that want the full experience of quieting all the noise and returning to the experience of being in someone else’s presence without any words. They say actions speak louder than words. Let them feel your support and love literally by walking 1 mile with them or figuratively, sitting quietly with them for 30 minutes. Too many times we feel that in a conversation we have to be right or make known our opinions. Lets regain the days prior to cell phones and multitasking to take a step back and enjoy the company and our surroundings
This can be classified as the Active Listening phase. Could you walk or sit quietly as you listen to another person tell you about what they appreciate. Sorry this is not meant to be a vent fest. There are other times for that. This is truly meant as a way for the person speaking to not bring up wrong doings or rehash hurt feelings. It is meant to allow 1 person to let the other person or parties how valuable they are. Why is it that we have a tendency to wait to someone approaching the finish line of life to let them know their value. I am sorry standing at their casket or grave is too late. The race is over they have crossed the finish line. My guess is that they would have loved to hear things mid race.
This still can be classified as the Active Listening phase. But more of conversational pace. Are you able to llisten to another person tell you about what they appreciate and are you able to tell them back. Again, this not meant to be a vent fest. There are other times for that. This is truly meant as a way for the person speaking to not bring up wrong doings or rehash hurt feelings. It is meant to allow each person to let the other person or parties how valuable they are. Why is it that we have a tendency to wait to someone approaching the finish line of life to let them know their value. I am sorry standing at their casket or grave is too late. The race is over they have crossed the finish line. My guess is that they would have loved to hear things mid race.
